The short version
We collect the minimum amount of data required to run FamChore. We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. Your family's information is used only to make the app work for you. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
What we collect
To create your household, we collect:
- An email address for the account holder
- Family member names and ages (you choose what to provide)
- The chores you create and complete
- Reward preferences and star balances
- Basic device info (operating system, app version) for diagnostics
What we do with it
We use this information to:
- Sync your data across the devices in your household
- Send notifications you've explicitly enabled
- Provide customer support when you contact us
- Improve the product through aggregated, anonymized usage data
Children's privacy
FamChore is designed for use by families with children under 13 with parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We never request personal information directly from children, never show third-party advertising, and never enable in-app purchases on child profiles. Parents can review, modify, or delete a child's data at any time from the parent profile.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on encrypted servers operated by trusted cloud providers in the United States. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Backups are encrypted at rest. We retain your data only while your account is active; on deletion, all personal data is purged within 30 days.
Third parties we use
We use a small number of carefully chosen service providers to operate FamChore: cloud hosting (AWS), payment processing (Stripe for premium subscriptions), and crash reporting (anonymized only). We do not use advertising trackers, analytics that fingerprint users, or social media pixels.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or delete your account by emailing privacy@famchore.com or using the in-app settings. Residents of California, the EU, and other jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws may have additional rights, all of which we honor.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in-app and via email at least 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
